Breathe Through Your Cravings

October 21, 2016

Do you feel out of control when it comes to your cravings?  Have you not found an effective way to manage them just yet - an effective one at least?

I know how hard it is!  I've been there Sister!  When I was fighting my Chronic Fatigue and Anemia, I craved energy.    And at the time, energy equalled sugar.  I couldn't get enough sugar because for a little while at least I would be able to have enough energy to cook dinner, do the dishes, or most importantly, play with my daughter!  Little did I know that the relief that I got from the sugar was supporting the very diseases I was trying to fight!  Not to mention the weight gain that came along with it!

What are you doing to combat those cravings?  Beating these cravings is a major factor in losing weight and better health.  We have all tried different methods to get over those cravings, but we ultimately give in.  So how do you control those cravings?  With the holidays coming up just around the corner, there is no better time than to learn how to beat those cravings!

I'm willing to bet that a breathing exercise is not one thing you have tried yet.  So I am here to bring to you a new trick for you to use to beat those cravings!

Lengthen your spine as you sit up straight.  Use your right thumb to block your right nostril and breathe in slowly through your left nostril.  I like to use a count to do so and I specifically breathe in to the count of 6, and release to the count of 6.  Be sure to keep your breaths relaxed and controlled, without getting out of breath.  Try to do this for 2 - 3 minutes to start with and build over time.  Soon, breathing through the cravings will come natural to you!
